POWER OF WORD

If anyone does not stumble in the word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. if we put into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. James 3:2-3

Some people speak word through the joke and one will say I was only joking but to the receiver the word meant something else. Words that spoken by people at times they are very dangerous and at times they soften the heart, such words are they from the heart.
Why then, do we find it so difficult to refrain from saying words we know will only harm? Controlling what we say, though, how hard do we really try? Is it simply a form of self discipline that we are lacking, We seek to control every single aspect of our lives.

Surely it is easier to harness the power of a wild horse than to reign in your tongue. It does seem to take on a life of its own bursting out of control at times when emotions are elevated. Whether we are quickly placing our foot in our mouth or cutting down another driver in rush hour traffic, it is a problem to most of us.

  1. I agree that we need to watch what we say, when we say it and to who. It can definitely hurt in more than one way.

  2. Thanks for commenting on my blog, really we are to watch and think before we say. Think first if someone can tell what you want to say to the other person how would you feel.
