WHAT WISDOM CAN DO

Wisdom reflects the values and criteria that we apply to our knowledge. Its essence is discernment, discerning of right from wrong, helpful from harmful and Truth from delusion. The wise are able to discern their true interests from those of the ego mind. They are usually regarded as kind, content in themselves, they tend not to aspire to greater material wealth or fame and they have learnt what is important. Today we need to re-discover for ourselves the wisdom that inspired so many of these traditions. And discover how to cheer up that wisdom in ourselves.A wise person is not thinking for himself or herself, a wise person do what is right at the right time.

Wisdom is the power to see, and the inclination to choose, the best and highest goal, together with the surest means of attaining it. Wisdom is, in fact, the practical side of moral goodness. As such, it is found in its fullness only in God. He alone is naturally and entirely and invariable wise. J. I. Packer #smed12
